Here’s my top 20: http://www.shompy.com/ben-schmitt/l34226_ukuk.html
Other than that for help, I’m really into documentaries. And though not many such ones are favorites of mine, I’m also interested in films that reflect on the creative process through the actual structure of the film (Edvard Munch), or deal with it via characters or plot (La Belle noiseuse). I also realize this is a vast generalization, but great writing of confined stories, which are character driven, is a kind of outline I dig too (Dekalog, Ordinary People, Taxi Driver, Öszi almanach, Paris Texas, etc). I also like films with themes of futility or meaninglessness (Il Posto, 2001, Sátántangó). And last but not least, I love films with ambiguous endings, and I don’t just mean plots and internal ideas that go unresolved (Picnic at Hanging Rock) -- ambiguous imagery also fits the bill (Manufactured Landscapes). But really, I’ll watch almost anything.

Sounds great! Made me curious to see a thread with some documentaries, another thread with "films that reflect on the creative process" and so on... Kinda like my The Prop Department or Lauren's Images, Ideas, Impulses threads.
So... do you take thread requests?

What do you think of Errol Morris? Probably the best documentary filmmaker I've seen, and The Fog of War is all around one of my favourite films.

Haha, yeah, that’s actually a pretty good idea, though I’m not sure I’ll get enough traffic to make subsections worthwhile for me. I will keep it in mind, however.

I believe I’ve just seen Gates of Heaven and The Thin Blue Line from Morris, both of which I thought were great, so Fog of War is definitely something I’m interested in.

Hi Cloak,
I just read this at your Shompy 'statement':
"Last 10 Viewings -- (*) indicates first viewing
---------------------------------------------------------------
Trys dienos (1991, Sharunas Bartas) - (6.5/10) *"
Could you give me some feedback on that film, please? (I asked about it on my thread, but I guess nobody ever read that. )
It seems that you weren't impressed all that much, eh? Thanks in advance.
